All works were safely completed around heavy vessel movements, with limited access to site while vessels were at berth. 

 

MCM was engaged by the Port of Melbourne to complete rehabilitation works to two major fuel and liquids berths along the Yarra River to lengthen the lifespan of their fire systems. 

Client brief

The objective of the project was to rehabilitate the existing fire safety systems piping network at both facilities. The works aim to improve the firefighting system performance, operations and fire incident risk management and to extend the life of the fire system assets.


What we delivered:

  • Full replacement of the underdeck deluge systems at Maribyrnong Dock and partial replacement at Holden Dock

  • Installation of new water spray nozzles at both docks, including underdeck, egress passageways and tower protection

  • Replacement of egress passageway deluge system pipework and nozzles 

  • Replacement of main fire supply line and foam line to southern gangway monitoring tower
