Barham River Bridge Works
The Great Ocean Road crossing of the Barham River at Apollo Bay is a circa 1961 PSC I Beam CIP deck over CIP RC crossheads and columns. The structure is situated in a high exposure coastal environment which has had a detrimental effect on the structural bearings over the life of the structure.
Client Brief
The design of a jacking methodology and remediation works to the bridge bearings, and various concrete elements.
What we delivered:
Installation of MCM custom access system for underside works
Design and installation of hydraulic jacking system
Manufacture and replacement of bearing shoes and fixed plates
Concrete repair to various elements
Blast & Paint works to beam sole plates
Replacement of bearing pad pedestals
