Location
Lautoka Wharf, Fiji
Works Completed
Concrete Repair, Cathodic Protection, Fender Pile Installation
A significant wharf rehabilitation project for the Island nation of Fiji. The structures have been subjected to harsh environmental and service conditions since their construction in 1959.
The purpose of this project is to extend the useful life of the Lautoka Local and Queens wharf structures, which play a vital role in trade in the Pacific region. Chlorides ingress from the seawater has caused the onset of corrosion of the embedded reinforcement steel which has in turn led to concrete deterioration.
