Extensive logistical planning was critical for successful delivery. All the site plant, consumables and a large part of the materials, including some 15,000L of fuel for the site generators, were brought to site on barges.
Built in 1917, the lighthouse consists of a reinforced concrete tower 28m high with a circular barrel, an octagonal 6m wide base and a reinforced concrete balcony.
