Project overview
MCM will be stabilising the crib wall along Pirrama Road opposite the Pirrama Park Playground. As part of the stabilisation works, soil nails up to 6 metres in length will be installed through the concrete retaining wall at 1.5m centres in each direction. A galvanised steel mesh will then be laid and the wall sprayed with shotcrete to pin each element to the substrate.
These works will require temporary installation of a scaffold and A Class hoarding along the crib wall. The staircase leading from Herbert St to Pirrama Rd will be closed for the duration of works and reopened by 8 December 2023. All pedestrian access will be via the alternate route (see map below).
MCM will work to minimise community impacts during this time, however there will be minor machinery noise during the works.
